Paperwork, Paperwork, Paperwork and more paperwork..
I am sure this is just the start of all the paperwork, but I already have a binder full. Right now the hurdle seems to be proving our income to the SDA. We are self employed and they don't like what our taxes show! Oh well, Nina will find a way around it - I hope! Any suggestions from anyone that has had this situation?

Hi, Dan, Stacey, and Steph! Thanks for visiting and following our blog. Please let me know if you have any questions as you wade through a Ukrainian adoption. The road may be long, but the Lord will make a way! Do you have an age range in mind? One or two children? So many decisions, and you're just starting your paperwork. :-)
ReplyDeleteHello!! Jeff told me when I got home from work today that you and Dan were trying to adopt. HOW EXCITING!! How much I would love a new nephew or neice. We are very proud that you and Dan chose to go ahead with this, one thing is for sure, you two (and Steph) will make wonderful parents (and sister)! You have everything to offer a child and anyone would be lucky to have you two as parents. If there is anything we can do, please don't hesitate to ask. Luv you all much and we will be praying that we all soon will have a new member to our family!
ReplyDeleteThank you for leaving a note on my blog. I see you are just starting this journey. It can be very frustrating, but just take it one step at a time and you'll get through it. There are plenty of people who have been through it who are here to offer advice and to cheer you on. I will add your link to my blog so I can check out your progress. Congratulations on your decision to adopt.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are planning to adopt from Ukraine in the future but we are not able to do it within the next few years. One family I know is adopting a special needs child and they put a link to a site devoted to finding homes for special needs children http://www.reecesrainbow.org/angelolderchild.htm As I was praying for some of these kids I saw a picture of Maxim, a boy with mild cerebral palsy and I was overcome with the need to help find him a family. If he doesn't find a family soon he will be sent to a mental institution for the rest of his life even though he only has a physical disability. I have a few good friends with cerebral palsy and I just can't imagine this poor boy without parents and without the opportunities to lead a normal life. Do you know of anyone who might be looking to adopt a child like Maxim? If so, please let them know about Maxim from Reece's Rainbow. I believe he is from Ukraine.
Hi. So glad to see that another family is adopting from Ukraine. WE are too! This is our secodn time adoption from Ukraine in the last two years so if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help.
ReplyDeleteWE are self-employed and adopted from Ukraine last year; you can have your accountant or some other professional with personal knowledge like your banker write a letter describing what you do and how much your income is annually as well as monthly. You can reach me at my blog is you have any further questions.
